Two weeks of our lives were consumed by a terrific event, drawing out the patriotic feelings within us and dominating most television broadcasts. Yes, these were the Olympic Games. This year, they were held in the distant city of Vancouver, and thanks to the time zone difference, it forced the European population to get out of bed early or on the other hand, stay awake until the late morning hours. A few of us however had the unique privilege to experience all the tension and joy combined in person. Mr. David, who was amongst these lucky individuals, documented his Olympic adventure in order to share it with us in his first week of life.

We’ve seen a bag of black and white weeks break open lately. It’s strange, as if you initially feared presenting your life using only the two basic colors of the whole color scheme life offers us. But this elegant combination suits many of you and in evidence of this, today’s Editor’s choice features the set of Jan Watzek. In his case a colorful caterpillar turned into a beautiful black and white butterfly, which bedazzles with its creativity, diversity and most of all, incredible shift in photographic style.

Jiří Rajs is the first retired person to contribute to Week of Life. And we must say that our office was very excited about his set. His week proves that age is not a limiting factor for photography or for our project. His days are filled with sunlight and happiness proving that one can live to the fullest even in older age.
