Týden první noci
Our lives are interwoven with events that are usually short-lasting. However, there comes a time when we experience once in a life time moment, such as moving to a new place. David Bares is currently going through this ‘moving’ period. Day by day, he has documented the preparations up until his newest week called Week of the First Night. As the name suggests, his new place has already been tested out. David has managed to capture this hectic period brilliantly and we can only look forward to his upcoming weeks that will surely be as good as this one.

Vaclav Tintera’s set with the name Easter Holidays is the newest addition to the Editor’s Choice section and a second appearance of this author. This week is 14 th in his collection, in which he continuously documents student life, but this time, it is complemented with a specific format, resembling the screen in a movie theater or films viewed on older televisions. This is what spices up a random week, at least based on comments from different users, but isn’t enough for the wee k to be worthy of an Editor’s Choice selection. We have to point out its technical mastering and mainly the rich content, showing us another piece from Vaclav’s life.

Oslava v Terchovej a príprava na Veľkú noc
The selection for today goes all the way to Slovakia, a country with the most members in the project right after the Czech Republic. This time, Dalibor Adamus is the Slovakian representative with his week Celebration in Terchova and preparations for the Big Night. It’s his 13 th week in a row. The set is rich with celebrations and entertainment, spring nature, good food and other everyday moments we are all familiar with. We don’t know if Dalibor is aiming for a full year of documenting life, but let’s hope today’s selection will be encouragement enough for many more weeks to come.

Student weeks are always refreshing. They radiate something that adult weeks lack and offer something else that is interesting. Most of the students that join Week of Life haven’t been around photography for long and that means they develop over time, allowing us to monitor their process week by week. Kata Koci is one of these developing photographers and already drew our attention last week with her weekly set on film. This time she made it all the way and is today’s Editor’s Choice with the week named 21 st, a perfect example of how students today enjoy life day by day.

Anyone who follows Jiri Skaloud’s weeks knows that he likes to experiment with photography and prefers square format most of all. This means you need to go through his weeks picture by picture, in order to see all the details and corners of the image, sometimes hidden in the preview format of individual days. Format isn’t the only thing Jiri likes to play with; he also likes to combine color with black and white images. As a whole, his week named Forty fourth is extremely varied and even gives us a hint of what might come in his future weeks – playful experiments with Dirkon, the legendary paper camera.
