For her original style shown in her weeks, Hana Gela became the next in line of the Week of Life Masters. A new Master is chosen only once in a while and Hana reassures us with every new week that we made the right choice in selecting her. The same goes for her 40th published week called Summer Ostrava. Everyone who likes details of ordinary moments presented in unusual and interesting compositions will certainly enjoy Hana’s sets.

Recently, our selections in this category remained with older and stable Week of Life members. After several weeks, their dominance was broken by a premiere week of a new member, student Eva Strnadova, who named her entrance week “Premiere: Vacation in Moravian Wallachia.” In 9 images a day, she perfectly presented what she experienced during her week. The combination of black and white photographs or the vivacity of interesting details gives this week a must see status. For many of you, vacation weeks were first attempts in the Week of Life project, which later transformed into a mild addiction. We hope that Eva becomes addicted as well and shows us more from her everyday life.

6300 is a respectable and actual number of Honza Belej’s photographs in the Week of Life project! Only a few members can remain resilient while maintaining such high quality. Some of you may say that Honza’s weeks are repetitive. However, that is the real value of his weeks and Week of Life as a whole, as he is not afraid to document ordinary life every day. Documenting ordinary life is a problem or even an obstacle for many of us and usually results in only occasional weeks when we find something interesting to photograph. This is not Honza’s case and we firmly believe that he will rank among the members who managed to finish 2 years of life and continue to document his life after reaching this milestone.

Even listeners go on vacation! This is one way of putting together Lukas Augustyn’s profession with the name of his week. Older members of the Week of Life project know what to look for in Lukas Augustyn’s weeks and enjoy them to the fullest. He depicts this already well known environment with such ease that it almost seems as if people around him had no idea there is someone with a camera in the vicinity. At first, Lukas was fond of documenting weeks in color, but lately he prefers weeks in black and white. We can all agree that his environment and black and white photography are a good fit.

In the last few weeks, Editor’s Choice selections were dominated by weeks in color. This dominant position of color is broken today by a pure black and white set from Zuzana Bobovnikova, who is rarely seen around the project these days, but when she is active, her weeks are full of quality and well worth it. This time it’s her 34th week called “Peace aka stages in the life of a woman…”, in which she shows all of us that she has a delicate photographic eye.
